THE AERO-TREK STORY
Like most artists, I have many plein air easels. They all have one thing in common, they’re too heavy, too large, or too heavy and too large for my needs. Traveling the world as an airline pilot by profession I needed something lighter and more compact. I also needed an easel I could hike up a mountain with to paint.
Enter Aero-Trek - using the latest 3D printing technology and space age materials we bring you the ultimate combination of a light weight and compact plein air easel. Whether you're traveling by air, or hiking around a city or up a mountain, Aero-Trek makes your painting life easier and less work. Without the tripod Aero-Trek can even be used as a tabletop easel/palette, as I do in hotels around the world.
The basic Aero-Trek system weights 2 pounds (excluding tripod). The Oben CQL-13 carbon fiber tripod weighs 1.5 pounds and the Sirui C5 carbon fiber tripod weights 1.87 pounds. At under four pounds your new Aero-Trek system won’t weigh you down.
Aero-Trek comes in a variety of colors:
Standard colors are Light Gray and Dark Gray.
We also offer Forest Green, and for a limited time, Lilac, and Teal. We can also fulfill special request colors. Please contact us if you would like something different.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY AERO-TREK?
Generally speaking each Aero-Trek is 3D printed on demand. We fulfill orders on a first come, first serve basis, and your easel will take approximately 20 hours to print and assemble. Please allow a few weeks for delivery. Your order will be added to the queue when we receive it.
WHAT IS INCLUDED WITH MY ORDER?
A folding pochade box with latching mechanism. (Box with hinges and latching mechanism is 9 x 9 7/8”. Two mixing areas 7 3/8 x 9 3/38 for a combined palette mixing area of 9 3/8 x 14 3/4”.)
Two lightweight aluminum vertical (joining) masts (22” and 18”) with connector. We chose 22” as the longer mast so that it will fit into a standard airline carry-on bag. You can join the two masts for a total vertical height of 40.” If you have a special mast size request we can fulfill that.
Two canvas holders which will accommodate either a 1/8 or 1/4” panel or a 1” stretched canvas. We can also provide you with custom canvas holders which can accommodate a gallery wrap (1 1/2” or larger stretched canvas) upon request. Contact us for more information.
Mast to Tripod Connector with standard 1/4” camera tripod female threading.

Aero-Trek Weight: The Aero-Trek Easel system weighs two (2) pounds (excluding tripod, and additional accessories). Add the Oben CQL-13 carbon fiber tripod at 1.5 pounds, or the Sirui C5 carbon fiber tripod at 1.87 pounds for the most advanced ultra lightweight plein air system on the market.
DO YOU SELL A TRIPOD?
Yes. We recommend and offer either the Oben CQL-13 or the Sirui C5. These carbon fiber tripods are compact and light. They are available in our Package Deal.
